Carlton Marsh - Sat 24th

Plenty of bird song all week with at least 7 Chiffchaffs leading the chorus.  Water Rails have been heard from at least two locations and both Great Spotted and Green Woodpeckers are active. A pair of Little Owls have been seen on a daily basis but our resident Buzzard has become more elusive. Highlight today was a single Whooper Swan flying ESE in the direct of Edderthorpe at 1710hrs, calling as it went.
