Managed to dash through to Adwick in time to see the White Stork which remained until dusk. It was somewhat too approachable for comfort and on close inspection and contrary to earlier beliefs could be seen to be sporting a narrow ring just above the foot on the right leg. So, presumably it is the same bird that visited the Barnsley area last November and has since been seen in Notts and Lincs among other places. Sadly, it's surely an escapee.
