News from Old Moor area today included a couple of Avocets that toured around as well as two the Egyptian Geese at Broomhill Flash.

The Egyptian Geese at Broomhill Flash today - John Hewitt. Unfortunately the grass makes it impossible to see the grains of sand between the toes, so characteristic of a genuine vagrant Egyptian Goose!

Modern technology - This Bittern shot was taken at 06.35 on the 18th March by a motion camera which had been set up in the Reedbeds.

Fantastic photo of the Bittern and good to think 1 may be still about as none has been reported since 14th March. Had a walk on the reedbeds last night but sadly didnt see a Bittern but did have a couple of Water Rails calling.
