The Edge 29th July

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Still smiling after watching Seev negotiate 'The Narrows' entrance to the hide on Friday. What a mover!!! Best described as 'Any which way but certainly not loose'.  Birds present included 1 Little Egret, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Mute Swan, 134 Canada Geese, 37 Mallard, 3 Gadwall, 1 Teal, 2 Oystercatcher, 94 Lapwing, 1 Greenshank, 1 LRP, 2 Kestrel, 1 Kingfisher, 2 Linnet, and 1 Sedge Warbler.

Broomhill Flash late AM-  Present were 1 Cormorant, 14 Little Grebe, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 2 Mute Swan, 29 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 22 adult+39 young Tufted Duck, 8adult+20 young Gadwall, 35+ Lapwing, 1 LRP, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Green Sandpiper and 1 Kestrel.

Bolton Ings early AM- On the open water were 8 Cormorant, 15 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan+ young, 21 Canada Geese, 5 Greylag, 39 Tufted Duck+49 young, 14 Gadwall+7 young and 8 Pochard+3 young. Also present 56 Lapwing and 1 LBB Gull.
