Notton Wood
A sultry evening provided the perfect conditions for Purple Hairstreaks to fly in this old established woodland. I counted 106 between 7pm and 8.30pm. (Ralph Hibbert)
HI Dave, I don't drive, but if you leave Barugh Green heading for Cawthorne there is a left turn after the motorway bridge along a lane where you park next to a brick cottage. walk over a little bridge opposite the cottage. Walk this path until you reach a style. Cross the style into Hugset Wood and look into the canopy for White Letter Hairstreak. Notton Wood is off Laithes Lane between Royston and Staincross Golf course. I hope this understandable for you.
