Edderthorpe, Sunday

National wildfowl counting day again. The main bird today is a Avocet on the Flash. Highlights from the duck count include;- Shelduck 7, Wigeon 51, Shoveler 68, Gadwall 101, Teal just 14 remain, Tufted 41, Goosander 3, Redshank 10, Lapwing 77. A pair of Willow Tits were on the railway embankment and a Chiffchaff was singing at the north end of the Flash.
Ferrymoor and Cudworth Common
Mallard 50, Wigeon 20, Gadwall 10, Teal 16, Goosander 1,Lapwing 34, Ringed Plover 3, Redshank 7.
Nice to see lots of singing Skylarks and a scattering of Meadow Pipits back on the Common.
