Wintersett 05.04.14

7°C - 11°C,   8/8cloud, with a south westerly breeze.
Nuthatches were noticeable around the area this morning.  The total count was 12.  A male at east wall and a male in Grotto Wood, Walton Hall,  a pair, a male and 2 more were in  Stubbs Wood,  a pair at Stoneheaps(on the canal), a male at  Blue Bridge (Haw Park Canal) and  a pair in Pits Wood. 
Anglers CP:  Curlew 1 W at 09.00hrs., Willow Warbler 3♂,  Redshank 2 and Oystercatcher 4.
Fieldfare 5 over and Redwing 5 over.   Snipe 3 (Pol),  Teal 1 ♂ + 1♀,
Stubbs Wood: Green Woodpecker 1♂ + 1♂ WHall.
Haw Park Wood: Siskin 23 + 1 WHall.
Wintersett Res: Cetti's Warbler 1♂, Swallow1 N,  Sand Martin 1,  Canada Goose 3 + 1 WHall,
Mammals: A hare was, appropriately,  in Hare Park fields.
