More old photos......

1990 at Bretton with Mark (monkey) Watson passing a bag of young Herons down and Steve Davies to colour ringing them. Over four years we colour ringed around 120 young Heron at Bretton with later dispersed birds seen in North Wales, North Yorkshire, the Midlands and many places between.
Mark and Steve still ring mainly raptors in the Barnsley area and Dark Peak. I met Steve after a few years absence at Steve Robinson's funeral yesterday. A few BBSG members will remember Steve Robinson who worked in BMBC Planning Department and was very much involved with nature reserves and various countryside projects. A great person who did a lot for conservation in Barnsley.
