Wintersett + Gull Roosts 15.01.16

0 - 2 degrees, very cold and frosty, but sunny with a light to moderate westerly breeze.
Anglers CP: Pink-footed Goose 2,  Greylag 111. The  Barn Owl showed in box this morning and at 16.00hrs.  
Wintersett Res: 3 Cetti's Warblers were heard this morning - one north bank,  one Botany marsh, and one, for the first time,  south west bank.   Water Rail 3 west bank and 1 boathouse reeds.  Willow Tit 1 south east corner and 1 west bank.  Grey Wagtail 1.
Wintersett Res Roost: per Kev Denny.  A stream of large gulls for a few minutes at 16.40hrs, but that was all.  The usual all white Black-headed Gull  with black primaries was in. 
Anglers CP Roost held good numbers of big gulls.  John Mcloughlin found a new 1st W Caspian Gull at 16.10hrs.  The 4thW Caspian Gull was in at 16.20hrs and the juvenile Kumlien's  Gull was in at 16.30hrs.
Of interest: @Donnybirding tweeted - the dark-headed juvenile Glaucous Gull left Hampole tip WSW at 16.20hrs.
