Hapy New Year!
The booze was forsaken for a morning's birding! Of note: Scout Dike Res. - female Pochard, 16 Common Snipe and a single Jack Snipe in the rushy field to the south, c. 60 Fieldfare over and two Ravens flew south. I had two of the latter here on 29th Dec and it would appear they are becoming more regular in the Ingbirchworth area. Hartcliff - c.80 Lapwings and c.300 Black-headed Gulls.
Silkstone Sewage Farm - 2 Chiffchaffs were feeding on the filter beds and wer my first wintering birds here or anywhere else in the Barnsley and Hudds area! Rather 'Dudey' but nice to see never the less.
Cheers
Russ
