Saturday, early morning Edderthorpe

It struggled to get light this morning with the low thick black clouds and by 09.00 I found out why - the predicted heavy rain started! Not a single wildfowl on a excellent looking Houghton Washlands at 'dawn' but I soon realised why- five cardboard-looking Canada Geese decoys and a shooter in the field.
Managed to flush a Jack Snipe from nearby but the best on a rain-lashed Edderthorpe was just 7 Pochard.
