The Edge

Broomhill Flash mid AM- Not exactly the 'Beast from the East'  weatherwise but still cold. About 80-90% of flash covered with ice. Birds present included 60 Teal, 76 Wigeon  30 Mallard, 13 Tufted Duck, 6+ Gadwall, 6 Pochard, 2 Shoveler, 13 LBB Gull, 6 Common Gull, 6 Grey Partridge, 5 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Kestrel and 5 Meadow Pipit.

Bolton Ings late AM- About 90% of eastern pool covered in ice. On the open water and ice were 1 Grey Heron, 2 Little Grebe,  4 Mute Swan+ 4juv,113 Gadwall, 80 Wigeon, 36 Pochard, 21 Shoveler, 20 Teal, 26 Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, 2m+1f Goosander(+4 flyover), 2f Goldeneye, 1 Shelduck, c250 BH Gull and 18 Common Gull. Also present were 3 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Jay, 3 Green Woodpecker, 3 Cormorant, c150 Redwing and c100 Fieldfare.
