Broomhill Flash mid AM- Initially on the open water were 2 Cormorant, 5 Tufted Duck, 4 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 1m Goldeneye and 2 Common Gull. After being flushed from the flooded juncus grass margins, 52 Mallard, 36 Teal and 6 Goosander(5m+1f) appeared on the flash. Also present were 1 Kestrel, a flock of 200+ Woodpigeon( flying north east ) and 2 Hare.
Bolton Ings late AM- Very quiet on the TPT with 1 Kestrel and 1 Cormorant being the only birds of note. For the second day running no winter thrushes were seen. On the open water were 6 Cormorant, 2 Mute Swan+1 juv, 58 Gadwall, 25 Pochard, 8 Shoveler, 6 Tufted Duck, 3f Goosander, 3f Goldeneye, 2 Teal, 2 Mallard and 4 Common Gull. Also present were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Redshank.
