Houghton Washland

The Environment Agency have been lowering the floodbanks this week and due to the good weather have completed their works in a week instead of the assumed two weeks. The machines will be moving off site tomorrow (Saturday) and peace should be restored. Not much changing bird wise this week, a Nuthatch with a roving tit flock on the railway this morning is unusual here and Redshank are up to 11.
