Bolton Ings - 1st July

A strong westerly wind this morning and 16c but it felt a lot colder, highlights being 2 Mediterranean Gulls making their way towards Old Moor, a Black Tailed Godwit (2 were reported later), 3 broods of Gadwall and Coot now over the 100 mark. Full list, Grey Heron 1, Mute Swan 4 (broods of 2 & 4), Canada Goose 23 (broods of 6 & 2), Grey Lag Goose 9, Cormorant 1, Great Crested Grebe 3, Little Grebe 4, Mallard 5 (brood of 1), Gadwall 22( broods of 7, 6 & 5), Tufted Duck 21 drakes, 3 ducks + brood of 9, Pochard 3 drakes, 4 ducks + brood of 2, Coot 112 including 30 juvs + new broods of 2, 2, 2, and 1, Moorhen 3, Black Headed Gull 389 including 65 juvs, LBB Gull 1, Mediterranean Gull 2, Common Tern 1, Oystercatcher 4, Lapwing 6, Black Tailed Godwit 1, Kestrel 2, Grey Wagtail 1, Jay 1, Chiffchaff 7, Whitethroat 3, Blackcap 1, Willow Warbler 1, Sedge Warbler 1.
