Moorland news 20/2/15.

Ewden - Peregrine 1 fem. probably a pair, one lost to view, Stonechat 1 summer plumaged male, 1 Common Buzzard. Too windy and cold here so off to Low Moor/Midhope- no sign of the Shrike but 3 Curlews dropped in at 3pm. They flew off e calling at 3-45pm + 2 Golden Plover flew w over pike lowe, Common Buzzard 5 together, Sparrowhawk 1, Kestrel 2. Good numbers of thrushes but all mixed flocks so hard to count. Whitley Common - Starlings thought to be 1000+ at the farm, 600 Golden Plover, 120 Lapwing.
