The Edge 3rd Feb

Wombwell Ings mid AM- 95% ice-cover of main flash. Consequently, waterfowl numbers reduced. Present were 4 Mute Swan, 14 Wigeon, 8 Shoveler, 7 Teal, 4 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 2 Grey Heron, 3 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 88 BH Gull, 5 Common Gull, 1 Mistle Thrush and 9 Meadow  Pipit.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 2 Mute Swan, 200+ Canada Geese, 2 Greylag, 3 Shelduck, 140+ Wigeon, 27 Teal, 21 Mallard,14 Gadwall, 11 Tufted Duck, 8 Pochard, 3 Shoveler, 4 Red Legged Partridge, 29 Coot, 12 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 1 Sparrowhawk, 23 Lapwing, 1 Snipe, 53 BH Gull and 3 Common Gull.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- Most waterfowl restricted to three small areas of open water. Present were 2 Mute Swan, c50 Canada Geese over, 46 Shoveler, 21 Tufted Duck, 17 Teal, 12 Pochard, 8 Mallard, 1m+5f Goldeneye, 1f Goosander, 2 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Grey Heron, 32 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 34 BH Gull, 7 Common Gull and 1 calling Green Woodpecker.
