Start of something good?
Working with Dearne Valley Green Heart and Natural England, BMBC has just started work on a new wetland and wader scrape at the southern end of Carlton Marsh. The project has brought some long-awaited management to the site, and will hopefully attract species not recorded here for many years. Aimed primarily at flood-storage, a second, much larger scheme elsewhere on the reserve will hopefully be starting very soon. Exciting times which we hope will result in more local birders visiting the site.
Cheers
Russ
