A post of two halves. Wintersett 06.07.12

Anglers CP: An afternoon paddle  produced 1 Oystercatcher,  4 Common Terns.  In front of the main hide the pair of desperate Great Crested Grebes frantically tried to save their nest, but were helpless as the water washed away their nest and two eggs.  Heartbreaking.
On a happier note Pete Smith reported that the humid weather last night provided excellent conditions for moth trapping. Amazingly, it also came up with the goods, as a Marbled White Spot was caught, another new species for the Wintersett area.  Several other interesting species were also caught: Blackneck (2nd record), Lilac Beauty, Suspected, Barred Red, Small Fan Foot and Purple Clay.
