Having had my long-weekend at the coast before beginning my 'night shift' yesterday I was looking forward to a visit to Old Moor, that is until somebody decided to run into the back of my works van at great speed. This meant that the whole of today which had been allocated for local birding was lost to stock transfer and vehicular matters, and with two days of mostly domestic duties to follow I was left not best impressed. Anyway, eventually managed a visit to Broomhill Flash this evening (no change) and received an update from Old Moor from DMW.
Old Moor - Bittern 7+ sightings over Reedbeds, Garganey, 13 Black-tailed Godwits and Med' Gull (3 cy) on Wader Scrape. In addition a Crossbill was reported flying over. Dave also mentioned fly-over Siskins on Saturday and yesterday. Also, on Friday a Hobby was over Birdwell late afternoon (Roy Twigg).

A juvenile Bittern captured on remote camera on 29th June. The prominent moustache is apparently very obvious even in flight. Handlebars lives on? |

So you don't claim to have whiplash, don't intend to sue, and don't intend to spend all autumn birding on the sick? Well we all know a man who would!!
Would kill for whiplash, not sue!
