The Edge 27th Jan

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Present were 208 Canada Geese, 11 Greylag, 3 Shelduck, 145+ Wigeon, 21 Teal, 10 Gadwall, 9 Mallard, 5 Shoveler, 4 Tufted Duck, 3 Cormorant (over), 1 Grey Heron, 81 BH Gull, 4 Common Gull, 4 Coot, 2 Moorhen and 1 yaffling Green Woodpecker. A Kingfisher was seen along the Bulling Dyke. 14 Redwing, 1 singing Mistle Thrush and 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker were in Broomhill Park.
Broomhill Flash late AM-Noted were 32 Wigeon, 10 Pochard, 10 Mallard, 5 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall, 1m Shoveler, 3 Red Legged Partridge, 108 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull, 16 Coot, 7 Lapwing and 1 Hare. The Little Owl, in the box on the eastern side, was only viewable from the Broomhill Park entrance to Wombwell Ings.
Bolton Ings late AM/ early PM-On the open water were 4 Mute Swan, 32 Shoveler, 15 Pochard, 13 Tufted Duck, 2m+6f Goldeneye, 5 Mallard, 2m+1f Goosander, 2 Gadwall, 2 Teal, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 19 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 32 BH Gull, 12 Common Gull and 1 LBB Gull. Also present were 42 Canada Geese, 1 Cormorant, 1 Kestrel, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1m Great Spotted Woodpecker and 2 Bullfinch.
