Wintersett + Gull Roosts

3°C and sunny first thing but by late morning 8/8 cloud and a very cold south westerly breeze.
Wintersett Res: Willow Tit 1,  Fieldfare 14 west and Grey Partridge 4.
Anglers CP: Pink-footed Goose 1,  Great Crested Grebe 10 and Mute Swan 7.
Both roosts were watched tonight.  Wintersett Res had 2 Iceland Gulls,  an adult at 15.15hrs and a juvenile at 16.05hrs.  A 1st W Yellow- legged Gull was in at 15.15hrs.  Anglers CP had the juvenile Glaucous Gull fly in at 15.39hrs.
per Paul Meredith:  Three interesting first winter Herring Gulls were variously on the rock wall at Anglers CP tonight, each being quite big and rather pale, especially on primaries. Bird 3 in particular invoked thoughts of a hybrid for a while, but more likely all three just part of variation within Herring Gull. Also the Glaucous Gull joined the rock wall gathering last thing.
