Wintersett + Gull Roosts 24.01.15

3°C with some thin cloud and a cold south westerly.
Wintersett Res:  Pink-footed Goose 1,  Greylag Goose 114, Buzzard 1 and Green Woodpecker 1.
Anglers CP: Wigeon 251 + 6 WRes.
Both Gull Roosts were watched today.  At Anglers CP the juvenile Glaucous Gull flew in at 15.05hrs,  a 1st W Yellow-legged Gull was in at 15.40hrs.  The 2nd W Caspian was in at 16.00hrs and the usual adult Yellow-legged Gull was in too.  On Wintersett Res.  a juvenile Iceland Gull was in at 15.37hrs closely followed by the adult Iceland Gull at 15.40hrs.  Unfortunately, 2 Grey Herons were chasing each other over the roost so most of the gulls were flying around. The adult Iceland went to and fro between the two roosts.  Both Iceland Gulls ended up on Anglers CP at dusk.
Totals for Herring Gull  2820 -  1020 on Wres + 1800 ACP.  Most of the Great Black-backed Gulls have moved on with only 149 present , 57 WRes + 92 ACP.  Lesser Black-backed Gull 6, 4 WRes + 2 ACP.
NB Pugneys Roost had no white-wingers but had a 3rd W Caspian Gull,  (+ a probable  adult Caspian Gull)  and  2 Yellow-legged Gulls - per @jonnybirder
