520 Pink-footed Geese flew west over a superb gull roost at 1540hrs
Both gull roosts were watched tonight. On Anglers CP the number of birds was an amazing spectacle, but held no goodies, whereas Wintersett Res had fewer birds but all the notables. A juvenile Iceland came in at 15.50 and an adult Iceland at 16.40hrs. An adult Caspian flew in at 15.40hrs. There was a new site record of 4200 Herring Gull - 2800 ACP + 1400 WRes.. Also 1064 Great Black-backeds 842 ACP + 222 WRes. 2 x 1stW Glaucous X Herring Hybrids were on ACP.
NB: There was a decent roost at Pugneys but the only notable was a 3rd W Caspian - per @jonnybirder
At Sherburn-in-Elmet an adult Glaucous and a juvenile Iceland were loafing in field along St John's Lane this afternoon - per @RichardDrew7. Orgreave had an adult Caspian per @BirdPieman.
