Wintersett + Gull Roosts 13.01.15

4°C, cool with some sunshine this afternoon and a light south westerly.
Wintersett Res:  Cetti's Warbler 2.

There was a packed hide for Anglers CP Roost tonight and patience was the watchword.  It wasn't until 16.25hrs that a notable was seen.  It was Psycho the adult Yellow-legged Gull.  He lived up to his name and put on a show by harrassing the juvenile Herring Gulls. At 16.35hrs the bird everyone was waiting for dropped on to the rocks in front of the hide. The juvenile Glaucous Gull showed well for a few minutes  before it flew out onto the lake.  It remained there for several minues before all the big gulls took off and headed for Wintersett Reservoir.
NB Pugneys roost  had two Yellow-legged Gulls, an adult and a 2nd W  per @SecretTwitcher.  Drake Smew on main lake at 16.45hrs per @jonnybirder
Eccup Res Roost had a 1st W Mediterranean Gull and an adult Yellow-legged Gull per @andyjowett .
