Wintersett + Gull Roosts 07.01.15

7°C,  mild and dry with 8/8 cloud and a strengthening south westerly.
Wintersett Res: Water Rail 1
Stubbs Wood:  Green Woodpecker 2
Cold Hiendley SF:  Grey Wagtail 2
Anglers CP:  Pink-footed Goose 55 west at 09.45hrs.
Gull Roosts:  Viewing conditions weren't ideal at Anglers CP, with lots of birds flying around in the strong south westerly, and then relocating  to Wintersett Res, where the light was fading. 3 notables were seen tonight. The usual adult Iceland Gull flew over ACP, south at 15.15hrs and was then picked up at WRes at 15.40hrs.  A juvenile Iceland Gull was in ACP at 15.30hrs then left  for WRes where it was seen at 15.45hrs.  A juvenile Glaucous Gull was in at Anglers CP from 15.45  until dark.
NB: Pugneys Roost had a 1stW Caspian Gull from 2.40-2.50 and a 3rd W Caspian Gull until 16.10. There was also a possible adult Caspian Gull in late, but too many white headed argenteus now!!! C500 big gulls. There was also a 3rd W Yellow-legged Gull per @jonnybirder.
No sign of Blyth's Pipit at 15.00hrs per @birdline  Drake Smew on main lake this morning per @ceeste45
