Ewden, 24/25th July 2015.

Last night at 10-30pm at stone circle track 3 Nightjars. 1 near the entrance gate churring and showing and 2 further up the track. 3 partys of juv calling Tawny Owls at ewden beck, broomhead hall wood and the others at low moor/ midhope. No sign of any Nightjars in midhope areas. Today at ewden 11am to 5pm, 4 species of falcon at the shooting lodge- Hobby 1, Peregrine 1, Merlin 1, Kestrel 6, + Common Buzzard 4, Raven 2, Jay 1, Stock Dove 5, a family party of Stonechats near the s bends, 1 Common Gull with a LBB Gull. Annoyingly a lapse in concentration at packing up time had a large brown raptor go low over broomhead moor, behind shooting lodge which was possibly a juv Goshawk.
