The Edge 17th July

Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan +5 cygnets, 39 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 4+9y Tufted Duck, 3 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 1 Grey Heron,10 Little Grebe, 129 Coot, 5 Moorhen, 31 Lapwing, 4 Black Tailed Godwit (through east at 9am ), 3 Kestrel, 2 Little Owl, a flock of 50+ Goldfinch and 1 Fox.
Warbler Way - Singing males included 7 Chiffchaff, 6 Blackcap, 2 Sedge Warbler, 1 Whitethroat and 1 Song Thrush.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 3 Mute Swan +7 cygnets, 13 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 129 Gadwall, 18 Pochard, 17 Mallard, 12+9y Tufted Duck, 12+3y Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 123 Coot and 2 Moorhen. Also present were 1 Little Egret(through west at 11.45am), 2 Kestrel, 1 Hobby and 1 LBB Gull.
Wombwell Ings - Present were 12 Greylag Geese, 1 Canada Goose, 18 Mallard, 6 Gadwall, 3 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1+1y Little Grebe, 2 Coot, 1 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 25 Lapwing, 21 BH Gull, 1 Skylark and1 Pied Wagtail.
