The Edge 10th July

Wombwell Ings - Present were 1 Greylag, 33 Gadwall, 21+2y Mallard, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 2 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 25 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 24 BH Gull, 2 Skylark and 2 Linnet. A Grasshopper Warbler was reeling in the field across from the Old Moor Tavern.
Warbler Way - Singing males included 10 Blackcap, 7 Chiffchaff, 5 Whitethroat, 2 Willow Warbler, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Grasshopper Warbler, 1 Garden Warbler and 1 Song Thrush.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 3 Mute Swan + 7 cygnets, 27 Canada Geese, 29 Gadwall, 9+2y Pochard, 7+2y Tufted Duck, 3 Mallard, 119 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 7+2y Great Crested Grebe and 4+1y Little Grebe. Also present were 1 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 10 Lapwing, 1 Common Tern and 3 LBB Gull. 
Broomhill Flash -Noted were 2 Mute Swan+5 cygnets, 34+2y Canada Geese, 7 Greylag, 22+24y Gadwall, 7+5y Tufted Duck, 5+2y Mallard, 2 Pochard, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 109 Coot, 9 Little Grebe, 38 Lapwing, 2 Snipe, 1 Kestrel and 5 LBB Gull.
