Adwick Washlands

Last nights heavy rain on top of the showers that we have had over the last several days have filled up the thirsty ponds, ditches and scrapes around the reserve (overfilled in a lot of places) and the River Dearne was high at Bolton

These were the highlights from 10:30 to 12: this am

Whitethroat 3, Ringed Plover 7, plenty of Reed Buntings, Redshank, Swift and House Martin, 1 Whimbel flew in at 11am to rest from the strong westerly but only stayed a few mins before leaving NW, Yellow Hammer 1, Grey Partridge 3, Sedge Warbler 1, Sparrow Hawk 1.

Many people say it is difficult to find this reserve. For those looking for it; the Car Park for this reserve is at 53.516157, -1.283569 on Furlong Road between Adwick on Dearne and Harlington.
Walk in a westerly direction along the northern bank of the River Dearne for about 350m, the reserve is over on the right
