Edderthorpe etc Monday

The 14 Black-tailed Godwits seen on the Flash yesterday are the largest flock seen in Barnsley this spring and they all flew in again this morning at 08.10. Ringed Plover 9 and LRP 2 were also on the quite extensive muddy edges but little else. Little Egret 1. A Red Kite was seen from the Trans Pennine Trail below Stainborough as it flew from that direction towards Gilroyd at 17.00, closely pursued by a pair of the local Common Buzzards whose territory it presumably wandered through.
