Edderthorpe, Sunday

As expected many of yesterdays waders had cleared out this morning, carrying on their north bound journey (still a couple of thousand miles to go for the Sanderlings). Fifteen Ringed Plovers were present as the rain started to ease at 07.00, another 7 came in with 4 winter plumaged Sanderlings at 07.35 but the Sanderlings only stayed for 10 minutes, and another 3 Ringed Plover came in putting the total up to 25. Four LRPs and 3 drake Teal. In the evening there were still at least 24 Ringed Plovers present and a Dunlin as well as 4 noisy Oystercatchers. A surprise was 28 Lesser Black-backed Gulls which came in to roost at dusk.
