Carlton Marsh

This years first ringing session this evening provided 5 Reed Warblers, which included a retrap from June last year, 1 Yellow Bunting 1 Reed Bunting and a male Kingfisher.

Also present 7 Greylags, 12 Canada Geese, 2 Little Grebes, 3 Grey Herons, Grey Wagtail, Water Rail, Little owl, 2 singing Lesser Whitethroats, Green and Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 5 pairs of Tufted Duck, 2 singing Sedge Warblers and 7 Reed Warblers. 2 Rooks flew north this morning and 3 south this evening. They are quite scarce here. A Redshank was on the New Scrape when I left at 21.00hrs and a Cuckoo was singing.
