cool chicks?

With unseasonable (or perhaps you'd say seasonable!) cool conditions at least 150 House Martins were feeding low over the water at Broomhill Flash. Meanwhile at Old Moor the Bittern is showing as per norm and both a Little Egret and a drake Garganey were on the Wader Scrape where there was also a dead adult Avocet which has apparently been there a few days. Better news however, is that another sitting bird was showing signs of having hatched young, although no young were seen. Keep them warm! Also in the area a Grasshopper Warbler is feeding young and two birds have been 'reeling' in last couple of days. Second broods to follow?
