Old Moor - 29th June
Yet another good day at Old Moor, female Bittern seen regular and fantastic footage of 2 juvenile Bitterns can now be seen on RSPB blog or Youtube. New in today is 3 adult Mediterranean Gulls which can be seen on the Wader Scrape along with the 'resident' 2nd summer bird. The eclipse drake Garganey is giving good views on the Wader Scrape along with plenty of Teal and Pochard. Waders building up now on the Wader Scrape included Lapwing, Redshank, Ringed Plover 3, Little Ringed Plover 1, Black Tailed Godwit 2, Green Sandpiper 1, Oystercatcher, Avocet + chicks, Curlew 4 and 1 Dunlin. 10 species of waders in late June, not bad.
