good god-wits

Early evening shift at Old Moor where the Bitterns continue to show. The eclipse drake Garganey had moved onto Wader Scrape where the usual Med' remained and a Common Sandpiper was on The Mere. Despite the warm weather there seemed to me to be a noticable increase of Swifts around. Rumours of five Black-tailed Godwits earlier in day was verified when Keith Pickering's photo below popped up in my inbox.

Two more were in front of the Mere Hide, one of which I also managed to photograph (below).

Other news included three Green Sandpipers by Wombwell Sewage Works and a Hobby over Bolton Ings. On the moorlands eight (four pair) of Common Scoters were apparently on Ingbirchworth Reservoir.
