Yellow Delight - Wintersett 10.06.12

The weather forecasters got it wrong, but this time for the better.  Not cooler and overcast, but sunny, warm, humid and very calm!
A stroll over to the wheat field south of Cold Hiendley yielded no quail calling this morning.  However, the same field produced a magnificent 5 PAIRS OF YELLOW WAGTAIL, two of which were feeding young.  Also in the same field were a good number of skylarks, a tree sparrow and a reed bunting.
Other highlights today were a  male Pochard new in and a Mute Swan with a new brood of 2 cygnets on Anglers CP.  A brood of 9 young Gadwall  were on Moorhouse Lane Ponds.
