Edge of Od Moor

Broomhill Flash mid-morning - 30+ House Martin, 7 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall + brood of 2, 1 Little Grebe, 2 Red-legged Partridgeand  2 LRP were noted. 1 Redshank and 1 Green Sandpiper were seen early AM.

Bolton Ings late morning- Singing birds included 11 Wren, 10 Blackcap, 6 Chiffchaff, 5 Chaffinch,5 Willow Warbler, 3 Reed Bunting, 3 Whitethroat,1 Song Thrush and 1 Lesser whitethroat. On the open water were c20 Tufted Duck, 5 Little Grebe, two pairs of Mute Swans with 4 and 2 cygnets, 2 Common Tern, 2 Great Crested Grebe,1 Grey Heron and 1 male Pochard.Also seen were 2 Cormorant, 2 Kestrel, 1 Oystercatcher, 1 LBB gulland 1 Green Woodpecker.

Wombwell Ings early afternoon- Very little on the open water with 10 Gadwall, 6 Mallard, 3 Tufted Duck, 19 Coot and 2 adult Mute Swans +5 cygnets. 2 Redshank were closely supervising their two young chicks. Also seen were 3 Grey Heron, 9 linnet and a juvenile Kestrel.
