wat er place

Getting down later than normal this evening and knowing Old Moor was covered thought I'd have a change and check out Wombwell Ings. Although water is running out the recent downpours have clearly left there mark with no mud visible. However, looking on the bright side, if we enter a dryer spell later this summer then this should make the place better this autumn, as in recent years it has all about dried up. Anyway, birds - 4 Herons, 6 Teal, Ringed Plover, 18 Lapwings, 2 Redshank and a 'drumming' Snipe. Manvers Lake - 2 Common Terns.

News from Old Moor - Little Egret flew north this evening, Garganey, 3 Black-tailed Godwits, Med' Gull, 4 Barn Owls (2 young).
