Little Egret was present most of the day along with a juvenile Kingfisher, 11 Mallard young and 10 Gadwall young. A small group of Chub were seen in the dike this afternoon, something that was unheard of until recently in the polluted dike.
This evening a Buzzard was perched overlooking the new scrape while a Barn Owl spent much of the evening hunting. An Oystercatcher flew south at 22.05hrs.

CudworthA Humming-bird Hawk Moth was feeding in Dave Standish' garden this afternoon and at Storrs mill a Male Orange-tip and male Brimstone were in company with a Red Admiral (my first this year) and several Banded Demoiselles.

Great news on the fish Cliff. I'm a chub watcher myself on the dearne over here. Do you get barn owl regular? Cheers stu.
Stu, We have had more Barn Owl sightings this spring than for a number of years, so let's hope they are having another good year.
