Wombwell Ings - Very quiet with 5 Gadwall (with broods of 8 and 4), 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Mallard, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 1 Little Egret, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1+1y Coot, 2 Moorhen, 6 Lapwing, 2 Redshank, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 4 Skylark, 1 Sedge Warbler, 1 Song Thrush , 5 Linnet and a group of of 12 young Carrion Crow.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan +5 cygnets, 34 Canada Geese, 3+3y Greylag, 11 Tufted Duck, 9 Gadwall, 6 Mallard, 2 Pochard, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Kestrel, 55 Lapwing, 103 Coot and 4 Moorhen.
Warbler Way - Singing males included 8 Chiffchaff, 7 Blackcap, 5 Willow Warbler, 4 Lesser Whitethroat, 3 Whitethroat, 1 Sedge Warbler and 1 Yellowhammer.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 2 Mute Swan +7 cygnets, 1 Canada Goose, 66+14y Gadwall, 19+5y Mallard, 16 Tufted Duck, 6+9y Pochard, 1 Wigeon, 3+1y Great Crested Grebe, 6+1y Little Grebe, 141 Coot, 3 Moorhen, and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Lapwing, 1 Grey Heron and 1 LBB Gull. Nature in the raw was shown by a Carrion Crow attacking and killing a recently fledged Black Headed Gull. This gruesome assault took place despite the 50+ adult Black Headed Gulls circling and dive bombing the Crow.
