Sunday 28/6/15.
Firstly I would like to pay a tribute to Mike Richardson. I know he made top contributions to birds and birding through his photography and lectures, some of which I have attended at the Barnsley meetings. Having read the comments on this blog and on twitter this morning he made himself very popular in doing so. Cheers Mike from Stu Green.
Very steady birding this morning at Wilthorpe Marsh with a Green Sandpiper on the river. Joined Dave Simmonite at Midhope/ Low Moor at 2-30pm until 5-30pm.- again very steady with Buzzard 2, Kestrel 6, Oystercatcher 5, a party of 4 + 1 single, Raven 3, BH Gull 14, LBB Gull 6, Siskin 8, Goldfinch 8, Snipe 2 chipping is quite a reduction. Swifts still moving w. today with 250 + counted and 10 House Martins.
