Cudworth Common
Had a stroll over here early morning to see how breeding waders were doing. Lapwing, most have given up on the breeding season, 58 flying birds and a brood of 3 recently hatched young behind the Symphony fence and another brood on the Common ponds. Ringed Plover at least 7 adults in the Symphony enclosure, one pair with a recently hatched brood of chicks. Little Ringed Plover, a pair acting as though they had young in the grass although I failed to see any. Little Grebe, a pair with chicks on the moat around the ponds. Judging by the number of Skylarks it would appear they have had a good breeding season.
