Carlton Marsh

A new arrival yesterday was a singing Garden Warbler, our first this year. It was singing from the same area this afternoon. A female Gadwall was with 5 ducklings and a Tufted Duck had 5 young.
A little Egret was busy feeding on Minnows and 2 Oystercatchers flew south over the new scrape at 18.47hrs.  Both adult Little Owls were joined by a juvenile and were showing well at 19.13hrs. (Dave Standish)

Song Thrush numbers are up here this year and in the surrounding villages.

Butterflies were thin on the ground, but I did manage to see 3 Large Skippers.

The following photos of a Buzzard and a Kestrel in combat, Willow Warbler and Little Egret were taken by Richard Laverack
