Cliff Wood
Met up with Michael Angel and we came up with these revised breeding figures:
Redstart - two pairs fledged 7 + 2+ young.
Pied Flycatcher - two pairs fledged 7 + 7 young.
Spotted Flycatcher probably two pairs - one pair had 5 eggs predated (perhaps by Jays) and another pair one hundred yards or so away.
Also 1 Hobby N, fp Treecreepers, plenty of young Blue & Great Tits and Nuthatches. At least one pair of Blackcaps has fledged 4 young. All in all it looks as though both resident and migrant species have had a good breeding season.
Of the 32 nest-boxes erected here, 28 were occupied (14 of these by Blue Tits).
