Hartcliff area

A couple of hour around the hill this afternoon, on mid-'summer' day! Hat and gloves wouldn't have been amiss. Of note were at least 40 Mistle Thrushes frequenting the 'Ouzel field', including several very spotty juvs. A decent count, this - the largest party I've had in a few years. At least 8 young Lapwings were counted, including five not long out of the nest. Golden Plovers totaled 25, which I assume are failed/non-breeders. I also had a 'tick' here today! Too embarrassed to name it but clues are noisy, black and white with an orange bill!
Cheers
