Wintersett 09.06.15

8°C with mostly 8/8 cloud, a cold north easterly breeze and a few short sunny intervals.
Wintersett Res: Mallard 25 +  3 vs young + 4 CHRes.   A Willow Tit family party with fledglings was on the east bank.  Common Tern 1.
Anglers CP: Redshank 1,  Curlew 1,  Oystercatcher 4 adults + 2 young and Greylag Goose 55.  Today, at 13.45hrs, a fox was seen on the islands, which explains why breeding success has been disastrous this year.  For example:From  44 pairs of Black-headed Gull  there are only 4 young remaining.   It seems foxes are a major problem here and at other sites in the region.
